During the City Council meeting yesterday, Leesville Police Chief Beth Westlake presented LPD Officer Emma Cole with a Certificate of Appreciation. Officer Cole was selected as the Employee of the Third Quarter of 2022.

Chief Westlake remarked that Officer Cole is an outstanding officer who has been with the department for nearly three and a half years and is always happy to help out where she’s needed. She said has done an outstanding job while filling many roles within the department.

Also at the meeting, Leesville Council members joined City Administrator Patti Larney as she signed, in the absence of Mayor Rick Allen, a proclamation naming January 2023 as School Board Member Recognition Month in the City of Leesville.

The proclamation draws attention to the mission of public schools to meet the diverse educational needs of all children and recognizes the local school board members who are committed to providing a strong foundation for our school system.

The proclamation will be displayed at Leesville City Hall throughout the month.
