Chaston Derek Pick Em

The NFL Divisional Round is upon us and Chaz has made his picks for the second round of the Playoffs but Derek (channeling the great Lee Corso) said, "NOT SO FAST." Derek has offered up his opinion on why Chaz's picks might not go the way he thinks they will.. In the Wild Card Round, Chaz went 3-3 in his picks securing wins from New Orleans, Buffalo, and Tampa Bay.

  • (5) Buccaneers at (2) New Orleans Saints, 6:40 p.m. ET
    • (CHAZ) SAINTS. SAINTS. SAINTS. I don't even want to think of a scenario where the Saints don't come up with a win. But seriously, I don't buy the hype how it's difficult to beat a team three times in one season... The Saints beat the Bucs by a combined score of 72-26. Saints offensively have nearly tripled the Bucs in the matchups. SAINTS!!! WHO DAT BABY!!
    • (DEREK) Not even going to put the other option out in the world. Go Saints!
  • (6) Los Angeles Rams at (1) Green Bay Packers, 4:35 p.m. ET (Packers +7)
    • (CHAZ) If Jared Goff were at full strength I might give the Rams a little more of a chance but I really don't know about their offense. Goff is still hurting with that thumb injury. I just think Green Bay's offense with Aaron Rodgers is going to be too over whelming for the Rams Defense. Green Bay by a Touchdown
    • (DEREK) With the Rams quarterback troubles, this game is going to come down to the Packers offense against the Rams defense. There are two things going for the Rams on defensive that could keep the score low enough for running backs for Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown to take advantage of: 1) a banged up Aaron Donald and the defensive line getting to Aaron Rogers throughout the game and 2) Jalen Ramsey keeping a lid on the ball getting to wide receiver Davante Adams.
  • (5) Baltimore Ravens at (2) Buffalo Bills, 8:15 p.m. ET on NBC (Bills +3)
    • (CHAZ) This is a very tough one for me because all season long I have been very high on Bills QB Josh Allen and I still am. Last week was a big scare for Bills fans as they could never put away the Indianapolis Colts. Lamar Jackson is going to what Lamar Jackson does and with the Bills' defense that scares me. I am going to take the Bills in a close game by a slim Field Goal.
    • (DEREK) The Ravens top rushing offense with JK Dobbins, Gus Edwards, and QB Lamar Jackson will be up against a  Bills rush defense that gave up 245 rushing yards in their game against Kansas City and 30 rushes for 163 yards in their game against the Colts last week. It could also be a snowy day in Buffalo on Saturday which seems like it would give Buffalo the advantage but may mess up Josh Allen's long ball.
  • (6) Cleveland Browns at (1) Kansas City Chiefs, 3:05 p.m. ET (Chiefs +10)
    • (CHAZ) Mahomes. Mahomie. Mahomdawg. Patrick Mahomes will be the factor in this game. The Browns are riding high off of that Wild Card round upset vs the Steelers. Their defense is the #1 reason they will not win this game. They allowed 500yds to Ben Roethlisberger. Just imagine what Mahomes is going to do. Mahomes and the Chiefs by 10.
    • (DEREK) This one will not be easy for Cleveland. The Chiefs have an explosive offense and the Browns do not have the best defense. In last week's game the defense had a hard time containing the Steelers even though the Browns ended up with the win. Roethlisberger threw for over 500 yards and 4 touchdowns in the Steelers' loss. What the Browns do have going for them are running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt against a Chiefs rush defense which is ranked 21st in the league this year. They also have momentum after last week's huge win while the Chiefs are coming off a bye week and 2 weeks out from the last game Mahomes actually played in.
