The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department reports three people are in custody after a standoff involving two men and a woman, and also a baby on Thursday, September 10, 2020.

VPSO Deputies originally responded to a report of a theft on Conner Road in Anacoco, LA, with images of the suspects captured on a security camera. Following help from the public identifying the suspects, deputies went to a home on Whispering Pines Loop in Leesville where all three were living on September 11, 2020.

When deputies arrived, the woman was trying to load a big-screen TV into a car, but when she saw them she grabbed a baby out of the car and ran into the house.

The suspects remained in the house refusing to come out, and at one point the woman opened the door and handed the baby out to a deputy and then slammed the door.

They did finally come out and surrender after two rounds of pepper spray were shot into the house.
