The Defense Health Agency is aware of a payment processing error that affected some TRICARE beneficiaries in the East Region. A third party billing error is hitting some premiums for 100x what they should be.

Tricare East is aware of the situation and is working with banks to reverse the charges hopefully before they actually hit the users accounts.

Those affected are military retirees and some members of the National Guard and Reserve.

In addition to financial issues it seems that since mid-November, the Defense Department website normally used to change health plans during the open season window has been offline. Anyone who wants to change their plan before open season ends on Monday must do so by mail or phone.
