On April 22, 2019, Rapides Parish Sheriff's office deputies responded to a report of criminal sexual conduct involving juveniles that occurred in the Boyce area.
Detectives identified Nathan Lynn Adams, 32, Katie Jo Harkins, 28, and Donald Adams Jr., 56, all of Boyce, as suspects. The investigation included interviews of the victims at the Rapides Children’s Advocacy Center. Detectives were able to establish sufficient probable cause that supported the original allegations.
Warrants were granted for Donald Adams Jr’s and Nathan Adams’ arrest in reference to Sexual Battery; Victim Under the Age of 13, and Indecent Behavior with Juveniles; Victim Under the Age of 13.
Warrants were also granted for Katie Jo Harkin's arrest in reference to Obstruction of Justice and Criminal Conspiracy, both of which are related to Donald’s and Nathan’s sexually based offenses.
On May 8, 2019, all three suspects were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center. Harkins was released later that day after posting a $1,000 bond. Donald Adams currently remains at the detention center in lieu of posting a $100,000 bond. Nathan Adams is also being detained at the detention center in lieu of posting a $100,000 bond and a probation violation.
Detectives say the investigation is still ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
