City of Leesville City Council met at 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2020, at City Hall. All members were present.
Daffine Kennedy provided the monthly bills in the amount of $48,818.85.
Pay requests were approved for:
LCDBG Rehab of Sewer Crossings in the amount of $119,181.89; and
Leesville Public Works Department Generators for Water Pumps Sunbelt Rentals in the amount of $23,000.48.
The council approved holiday closures for Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.
The Keep Leesville Beautiful Committee spoke to the Council about projects to raise the standards for current and future residents including improvements on buildings, signage and enforcement of codes. The Committee indicated that they have volunteers and donations to start work. The Council was asked to adopt an aesthetics policy.
State Senator Mike Reece addressed the Council regarding $500,000 bond commission for the sewer project on Entrance Road.
Logan Morris introduced the new Chamber of Commerce CEO, Shawn Stockard, who started on Monday. Stockard indicated that he would like to re-engage all part of the Parish in order to truly be the "Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce".
Mayor Allen promised numbers for the anticipated street sweeper at the next scheduled meeting on November 16, 2020.
