The City of Leesville City Council met at 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2020 in the City Hall Conference Room.
The Council voted to approve the following pay requests:
Leesville DWRLF Water Improvements Program in the amount of $1,914.80;
the Corporate Limits Annexation for New Willow Baptist Church in the amount of $2,000;
the Defense Critical Infrastructure Project $11,238.80;
the 17-18 Street Rehabilitation Project $105; and
the 18-19 LCDBG Rehab of Sewer Crossings for $350.
Ordinance # 4 was passed to amend and rezone property in District 2 from A-8 High Density Urban District to A 6 MS Single Family Urban district to allow installation of a mobile home.
Resolution 39 was passed to authorize the Mayor to sign and execute a notice to proceed with the FY 2018 LDCBG Rehab of Sewer Crossing Project.
Resolution 40 authorizes the purchase of a phone recording system at an estimated cost of $22,227.97 for the Leesville City Police Department. Chief Hill explained that the requested system was on the State Contract. Police Departments are supposed to record phone calls and the current system has gone out.
Resolution 41 was passed to authorize Pat Williams Construction to replace the roof of the municiple building annex at 101 W. Lee Street. The estimated cost is $282,230. According to Mayor Allen, this is a shared project with the Vernon Parish Police Jury, once they have approved the project, the roof replacement can begin.
Resolution 42 authorizes the Mayor to sign and execute an Intergovernmental Service Agreement with State of LA DOTD for maintenance including vegetation control and litter pick up from the state's right of ways and roadways; and
Resolution 43 accepts grant funding awarded by GameTime Cares Grant for the Country Club Park Project.
