In the latest update from the National Hurricane Center, they have named the system in question Potential Tropical System 2.

It has been forecast to make landfall somewhere between Lake Charles and Lafayette Saturday evening, potentially becoming a Category 1 or 2 Hurricane with the name of Brad.

Currently a storm surge warning has been issued from the mouth of the Pearl River to Morgan City, and a Tropical Storm watch has been issued from the mouth of the Mississippi to Morgan City.

The peak wind forecast at this time is 85 mph.
