Natchitoches Police Department officers were notified of a juvenile male that shot at an adult male on May 23 around 1:57 pm. The victim told officers that he saw a juvenile riding past his home, on a bicycle that he recognized as being his that had been stolen several days prior. The victim said that when he approached the juvenile, the juvenile pulled a handgun and fired a single shot at him, then fled the area on foot. The victim notified the police and gave a physical description, as well as directions of travel for the juvenile.Â
After a short search of the area, officers with the Natchitoches Police Department located the juvenile in a parking lot on Second St. The juvenile was taken into custody without incident and found to be in possession of a handgun. The juvenile will be placed in a juvenile detention facility, pending further court proceedings. Â
