The Merryville Historical Society and Museum has been awarded a grant from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation in Syracuse, NY, for a new roadside marker commemorating the legend on Leather Britches, an outlaw who fought in the 1912 Grabow Labor Riot.

The marker is part of the Pomeroy Foundation's Legends and Lore Marker Grant Program and this is the first marker in this category to be unveiled in the state of Louisiana.

The ceremony will be Friday, February 7 at 3pm at the Merryville Historical Society and Museum at 628 Railroad Street in Merryville, LA.
