There have been multiple reports of a high speed chance through Southwest Louisiana Monday, July 8, 2019.

From multiple sources, the best that can be determined this point is that Jefferson County deputies attempted to pull over a vehicle around 11:30 this morning with plates related to a missing or endangered person from the Austin area.

The vehicle was said to have pulled into a rest stop just after entering Louisiana on I-10, where law enforcement again tried to stop them, but the driver escaped back onto the interstate and continued east.

The chase ended in Westlake around 1 pm when the driver wrecked the vehicle.

While completely unsubstantiated, reports from those who saw the chase on the interstate stated the maroon Honda was being pursued by law enforcement from multiple districts in Texas and Louisiana.
