JRTC and Fort Polk held a Facebook Town Hall meeting at 11:00 this morning.
The post has moved to Mission Essential Personnel only. There will be 3 points of contact daily with soldiers, with one being either face to face or on Facetime. Soldiers will be provided professional tasks which could include online courses, collective tasks or studying for upcoming board reviews or professional ratings.
Residents on post are asked to follow the stricter form of social distancing that Gov. John Bel Edwards put into action on Monday. They ask that everyone stay home except for essential needs.
Currently there are 264 in quarantine on post – 145 soldiers, 111 family members, 7 DA Civilians and 1 contractor. There are 82 in isolation – 40 soldiers and 42 family members. There have been 0 positive COVID-19 tests on Fort Polk.
In the screening location they have seen 358 people over the last 5 days with 36 put in quarantine and 40 into isolation. Col. Dugai said they are being very generous in putting people into quarantine/isolation in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.
