The City of Leesville has posted a Local Declaration of a State of Emergency on their Facebook page.

Following President Trump announcing that the corona virus outbreak constituted a national emergency and following Gov. John Bel Edwards announcement that the Public Health Emergency COVID 19 posed a threat to Louisiana citizens, and because the Corona Virus is a serious threat to the City of Leesville, Mayor Rick Allen has signed the State of Emergency declaration.

It states that the Parishes ability to respond to this crisis may be exceeded and that the City of Leesville takes this measure in order to participate in any response and recovery plan administered by the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
