City of DeRidder City Council met at 5:30 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2019, at City Hall. Council President Hooper and Councilwoman Moore were absent.
Faith Scott addressed the Council thanking them for their help and support for the Moving Wall.
An ordinance was introduced to establish the city council meeting schedule and holiday schedule for 2020. Meetings will remain the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.
An ordinance was introduced regarding the passage flow of water on any street, gutter, ditch or drain on any property owned by the city or any servitude or right of way.
Both of the ordinances will have public hearings at the regularly scheduled meeting on December 9, 2019.
An ordinance was introduced to allow Lottie W. Daniels to place a Class B Mobile Home on her property on East 4th Street, currently zoned R-3 (Multi Family Residential).
The public hearing will be at the regularly scheduled meeting on December 23.
Public hearings were held to allow:
Ramon and Jade Ellender to place a Class B Mobile Home on their land on John Henry Jones Street (currently zoned R-3 Multi Family Residential);
to allow the City of DeRidder to enter into a Professional Service Agreement with Turnage Environmental Services LLC for the operation, maintenance, evaluation, mechanical repair, monitoring, and quality assurance of the City of DeRidder Waste Water Treatment Plant;
to allow the City to enter into a cooperative endeavor agreement with Beauregard United Soccer Association;
to authorize a contract with Berkshire Hathaway Guard through McGriff Insurance Services to provide commercial property insurance for 2020.
There were no comments on the public hearings, and all were unanimously voted Yes.
During the Council comments, Councilman Williams discussed the situation regarding branch pickup inside the city limits. The City is aware they are behind and are working to correct the situation.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 9, 2019, at 5:30 p.m.
