DeRidder City Council

DeRidder City Council met Monday, June 27, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. All members were present.

A resolution was passed authorizing the city to advertise for bids for the Kilman Pines Drainage Project.

Four Public Hearings were held and passed to :

  • Enter into a cooperative agreement with DeRidder Youth Football League
  • Updating Ordinances regarding General Provisions and Occupancy
  • Designating Charles Lestage as the new City Attorney and
  • Abandoning a portion of the alleyway at 322 East 1st Street

DeRidder Police Chief Craig Richard shared that he and Fire Chief Ken Harlow are working on a memo for the Fourth of July holiday reminding residents to be considerate of their neighbors and that fireworks inside the city limits is illegal.

This was the final council meeting for members Lydia Reynolds, Julian Williams and Kimaron Haynes Moore. There will be a swearing in ceremony for Mayor Misty Misty Clanton and the incoming Council next Friday, July 8 at 10:00 a.m. in the Deridder High School Auditorium. New members will be Wayne J. Godfrey, Sr; Artemese Hickman, and Danny Reynolds.
