Donald Jones with the National Weather Service in Lake Charles held two lengthy Facebook Live discussions earlier today related to Tropical Storm Bart and how it will affect our area.
The trend last night and today and maintained a course more toward the east side of the state. Predicted landfall at this time is 7:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019, in the Morgan City, LA vicinity.
It is still expected to become a category 1 hurricane, but a weak one. Weather watches along the coast run from Cameron Parish east., None of our local parishes are even listed in the tables predicting weather to watch.
That said, we are not getting out of this high and dry. It is expected we will possibly see 2-3 inches of rain and we can expect wind – but at significantly lower speeds than areas farther east.

If this does follow through and has minimal impact in our area, hang on to your supplies, we're still early in the hurricane season.
