Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office Animal Control is investigating a case of animal cruelty in Longville, LA.

On Wednesday, July 31, 2019, the Animal Control Officer was on the way to a call in Longville, LA when he saw eight puppies in the middle of the road.

He stopped, collected the pups and took them to the nearest home.

As he entered the property, he saw at least five dogs chained with no food, some dogs had rain water available.

It was determined the owner had no food for the animals at all.

After the property was searched, at least 24 dogs have been seized in various stages of malnutrition, some of them severe.

The Animal Control Officer will also seize eight hogs from the same property today.

The dogs will be vetted today and the investigation is ongoing.
