DeRidder Police report that Tammy Gibson submitted to an alcohol test this morning following her arrest which indicated no alcohol present. A search warrant was obtained for a toxicology test signed by Judge Kerry Anderson.

A blood sample was taken at Beauregard Health Systems Emergency Room, where Gibson was checked by a physician. She was released to the DeRidder Police Department and booked into the BPSO Jail for DWI and Reckless Operation. Bond is pending and the case is still under investigation.

It started with calls from students on the school bus, and a discussion on Facebook.

A student on a Beauregard School District bus called E911 at 7:00 Tuesday, August 271, 2019, and alerted DeRidder Police that the driver was swerving on the road and running stop signs. A parent shared on Facebook that their child stated the driver was weaving all over the road and running into ditches.

The bus was located at DeRidder Junior High School and the driver, Tammy Gibson, 60, of DeRidder was arrested for driving while intoxicated with child endangerment and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

Gibson was transported to the DeRidder Police Department for further testing and will be booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail.
