The Beauregard Parish School Board has asked voters to approve a $29 million bond in the upcoming May 4 election.

The bond would be payable over 20 years with the ad valorem taxes included in the proposition.

The current ad valorem for the School Board is 17.8 mils and would remain the same amount with no increase in taxes unless the value of your property has increased.

Funds acquired through the bond would be used through the Capitol Improvement Plan – focusing on projects for schools across the district in Singer, Merryville, DeRidder, South Beauregard and East Beauregard. It will be used to improve land for new schools, improvements, additions and renovations where they are needed.
