The Beauregard Parish Police Jury met yesterday afternoon at 5:00 to set the agenda for the regularly scheduled meeting next Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.

Several committees met earlier in the afternoon beginning at 3:00 p.m.

It was announced that the Greater Fort Polk Area Realtors Association will be hosting a Candidates' Forum on Thursday, September 12 from 6-9 pm at the War Memorial Civic Center. They ask that those attending RSVP to 337-202-1951 or greaterfortpolkar@gmail.com.

The 2019 Region VII meeting will be held Tuesday, September 24 at the Multi Purpose building in Cameron from 5:30 to 7:30.

The 91st annual Beauregard Parish Fair will be October 1-5, with the Fair Parade on Tuesday October 1. The lineup will begin at 4:00 p.m., the parade at 5:00 p.m.

The Finance Committee added a request to the agenda for Angela Aswell to attend the Parochial Employees Retirement System Administrative Training Session in Baton Rouge on October 8. She will travel the evening before and return following the half day class.

The Road and Bridge Committee submitted 3 additions: bids for lightweight aggregate – there was only 1 bid; approval of the Thibodeaux subdivision; and a request to grade ditches and install a culvert on Tram Road in Merryville, LA.

The Personnel committee will be requesting to move Rhett Lindsey in Road District 7&8 to full time with benefits and to promote Patrick Vick to Road Foreman in anticipation of the retirement of the current foreman.

The Building and Grounds Committee did not submit additions to the agenda, however they did discuss a few maintenance issues relating to buildings maintained by the Police Jury. These included the addition of timed exhaust fans into the Courthouse restrooms to keep airflow moving in mostly unused rooms; pest control in the second floor of the courthouse; air conditioning issues at the LSU Ag Center, and the elevator in the Police Jury building.

For the Administrators Report, Bryan McReynolds noted that there would be a constitutional meeting October 17, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. in the courthouse regarding the shooting range in Ragley, LA.
