The Beauregard Parish Police Jury met Tuesday, December 3, 2019. at 5:00 p.m. with committee meetings beginning at 2:30 p.m.

These meetings will set the agenda for the regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at 6:00 p.m.

The Legislative Committee voted to adopt resolutions approving the 2020 Regular Meeting and Holiday schedules.

The Personnel Committee dealt with staffing issues for the War Memorial Civic Center Board, Waterworks District #2 Board, Bundicks Lake Game and Fish Commission, Beauregard Parish Communications District E911, Beauregard Regional Airport Board, Fire Protection District #2 Board and the South Beauregard Recreation District #2.

The Finance Committee Reviewed 2019 Budget Amendment #1 and approved attendance at the Newly Elected Jurors Education on Thursday, January 16, 2019, in Baton Rouge.

The Road and Bridge Committee approved a school bus turnaround on Dave Cole Road following a material request from the School Board.

Last, the Jury went into Executive Session to discuss litigation strategy concerning Castle Investments and Consulting, LLC et, al. vs Beauregard Parish Police Jury in the 36th Judicial District Court, the recent trial held on September 17, 2019, and the strategy involved in the litigation and whether or not to appeal any judgment by the Court.

In the 5:00 Jury meeting it was announced that the Jury will hold open enrollment for 2020 on December 12 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Police Jury meeting room. For more informaiton contact Angela Aswell at 337-463-7019.

The Beauregard Parish Annual Safety Meeting will be held on December 12, 2019, at the War Memorial Civic Center from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

And, the Miracle on Washing Street Festival is this weekend.
