The Beauregard Parish Police Jury met Tuesday, July 9, 2019, in the Police Jury meeting room at 6:00 p. m.

The meeting began with Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Candidate John Gott and District 30 Candidate for the LA House of Representatives Charles Owen addressing the Jury regarding their candidacy's.

Items voted on and approved during the meeting include advertising to increase the speed limit on Seth Cole Road from 35 to 45 mph the entire length of the road; an emergency order to reduce the speed on Longville Gravel Road from Jordan-Deville Road to Burnett Road from 35 mph to 20 mph. They voted to add Beauregard Parish as a sponsor to the NACO Resolution on National Flood Insurance Program Re-authorization and Program Improvements. It was approved for jurors and/or the Director of Economic Development to attend the Statewide Economic Development Summit October 22-23 in Baton Rouge – Avon Knowles said the city would pay her registration, she asked if the Jury would cover accommodations. The Jury will join the City and the Chamber in publishing “Choose Beauregard Parish” at the cost of $100.

Before the meeting adjourned it was noted that in light of the upcoming weather, the Jury has Sand Bags located at each parish road barn for those who might need them.
