The Beauregard Parish Police Jury held committee meetings last night.

In the Legislative Committee, advertising was discussed for an amendment to Ordinance #1-2013 Reimbursement for Co-Payment for Inmate Medical at the jail. This would allow the jury to only take 50% of deposits to pay for medical rather than the entire amount. The regularly scheduled meeting for May 14 was moved to Monday May 13 to accommodate PJAL Legislative Day.

Personnel changes were made to Waterworks District #5 Board, the Beauregard Parish Airport Board and the War Memorial Civic Center Board.

The Finance Committee discussed alcohol permits with representatives from VFW Post 3619, and plan to produce a resolution to request exemption from fees for alcohol permits for veteran service organization from the state legislature.

Lastly, the Road and Bridge Committee will create a school bus turnaround on Highway 26. They also discussed a request to close Longville Church Road from South Beauregard for 1.6 miles to accommodate a 5K run from 8 – 10 am on May 4.

Final approval on all items will be in the regularly scheduled meeting at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019.
