Judicial District Court Seal

Ramon Ellender was convicted on a fifth-offense DWI charge last Tuesday by Judge C. Kerry Anderson. Ellender's history of 12 DWIs, across multiple states, possession, 13 felony and 17 misdemeanor convictions that go back decades earned him a sentence of 50 years in prison and a $5000 fine.

With the 2017 state law reform, what that actually translates to is Ellender will probably serve about 25 % of the sentence and then become eligible for parole.
