The Beauregard Parish District Attorney James Lestage has released a legal document stating that former Beauregard Parish Coach and School Bus Driver Tammie Gibson, 60, of DeRidder, is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, by the intentional operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of a schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, identified specifically as Zolidem (a generic version of Ambien) and Child Endangerment in that minor children 12 years of age or younger were passengers in the vehicle at the time the offense was committed.

On the morning of August 27, 2019, a student on Gibson's school bus alerted E911 that she was swerving on the road and running stop signs. Law enforcement located the bus at DeRidder Junior High School and at that time Gibson was charged with driving while intoxicated with child endangerment and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
