Lake Charles police arrested Malique Ezekiel Boutte yesterday following an investigation into a shooting that occurred Monday near McNeese State University campus that left one man wounded.

Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East McNeese Street Monday night to assist campus police and discovered a man with a gunshot wound. The man was treated at a Lake Charles hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The joint investigation between the University Police and LCPD revealed that several people standing outside the on-campus apartments on the corner of McNeese and Common streets, were fired upon by a moving vehicle. 

Boutte was arrested by SWAT members on Thursday and is charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, one count of aggravated second-degree battery and one count of illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities. Bond was set at $330,000.
