Early Saturday morning Binh The Ngyen, 47 of Anacoco, walked into the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office and stated that he had just shot his girlfriend in the hand. The victim had been transported to a local medical facility by her son.

VPSO Deputies confirmed the victim was in the emergency room and was receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to the hand. She indicated she had been asleep until she was shot.

The victim was transported to a medical facility in Shreveport for additional medical treatment and was last reported to be in stable condition.

Bihn Ngyen was arrested and charged with one count of attempted second degree murder. Bond was set at $300,000. Ngyen remains in the VPSO jail.
